Deadline to file income tax returns is over. Now lakshs of tax payers are waiting to receive tax refunds.
To check your income tax refund status, you can follow these steps:
Visit the official website of the Income Tax Department of India: https://www.incometax.gov.in
Login to your account using your PAN (Permanent Account Number) as the user ID and your password.
After logging in, click on the “View Returns/Forms” option.
Select the relevant assessment year for which you want to check the refund status.
Click on the acknowledgment number of the return for which you are expecting the refund.
The refund status will be displayed on the screen, showing whether it is processed, pending, or refunded.
If your refund status shows as “processed” and you haven’t received the refund yet, it’s best to contact the income tax department or submit a grievance through the e-filing portal for further assistance.
